What is Specialty Engineering?

Specialty Engineering is a component of Systems Engineering that complements the other technical activities required to deliver a project and its subsequent sustainment.
​
It covers areas including performance, safety, usability, cost certainty, deliverability and lifecycle of the product outside of the normal functional and traditional aspects of engineering.
Specialty Engineering covers wide range of activities such as:

Our Forum
Hong Kong Specialty Engineering Association (HKSEA) aims to provide a forum for professionals practising in these areas and those aspire to practise in these areas to learn, exchange ideas and advance in these areas of knowledge. We welcome all professionals and students from all areas to join us.

HKSEA is a non-profit group established with a shared vision among seasoned engineers, technical experts, and industry leader approaches to uncertainty and safety, quality assurance, accident & incident investigations and risk management enable businesses to gain a deeper understanding of uncertainties and their associated risk exposure.
This empowers organizations to proactively manage and mitigate risks, facilitating informed decision-making and optimizing investments for maximum value, as well as asset management.

The group serves as a special interest group dedicated to providing leadership and a forum in specialty and systems engineering, quality assurance, risk engineering, and risk management, with a focus on their practical applications in iindustry sectors including Aviation, Rail, Marine, Reliability, Lean, Asset Management, Artificical Intelligence and Data Governance.
